Welcome to the Alabama Society for Respiratory Care
The Alabama Society for Respiratory Care is a chartered affiliate of the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) representing our state. Our goal is to Educate, Elevate, Advocate, and Advance the profession of Respiratory Therapy in Alabama. The 20-member board are a group of volunteers representing all areas of our state that are elected by the members. We provide educational and networking opportunities for Respiratory Therapists at all levels of care.


2025 ASRC Awards
Nominations are now open for the 2025 ASRC Awards. There are four award categories. All recipients must be an active AARC/ASRC member to be eligible. Winners will be announced at the 2025 ASRC Annual Conference and Exhibits on April 8th, in Orange Beach.
Deadline to nominate - February 28th, 2025

The four awards are:

The Ronda Hood Award - presented to an Alabama RT that has demonstrated a lasting and sustainable contribution to the RT Profession.

The Fred Hill Award - presented to an Alabama RT Specialty Practitioner. This could be someone practicing in Education, Transport, Research, Diagnostics, etc.

The Brenda "BB" Basnight Award - this is awarded to a recipient displaying outstanding service, mentoring, or community service for the profession.

The Don Creel Award - this award is given to a vendor or industry representative that has gone above and beyond to support Alabama RTs. This recipient does not have to be an active member to be eligible.
